A/U Ranches, Adults & Family Camp

Young family camper’s eye healed

Charlotte

By Laura Lochen

Our family attended a week of Family Camp at the A/U Ranches this past summer. On the first day, our eight-year-old, Charlotte, got something in her eye, and the eye proceeded to swell. She was becoming more and more uncomfortable.

We found the onsite Christian Science practitioner, which is provided to all Family Camp guests, and told him what was going on. He knelt down to her level and shared with her this passage from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 463): “A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive.”

He spent a few moments sharing the idea of how she is a spiritual idea, and he assured her he’d stay with her. Charlotte said, “The practitioner stopped what he was doing to help me. I really appreciated it. He was nice to talk to.” It was our daughter’s first time speaking to a practitioner on her own, and that meant a lot to us.

The healing was instantaneous. Quickly she felt better and the swelling went down. She took a shower, went to bed and the next day said she felt fine. She went on to participate in kids’ camp activities and rode a horse, a highlight of her time there.

Charlotte told us, “I was glad my eye was healed quickly so I could ride horses.” Our family is so grateful for the provision of a free onsite Christian Science practitioner for all needs, and for the healing environment the A/U Ranches provides.

All programs at the A/U Ranches are subsidized by donors. Your gift today can help support healing experiences like this one.
