DB Monterey Getaway – October 2-5, 2025

Christian Scientists and their friends (18-24 yr olds), don’t miss this incredible opportunity to connect with fellow young adults in Monterey Bay! This adventure-filled trip includes sea kayaking, a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and uplifting metaphysical discussions in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Registration:
Please register above. Registration opens Thursday, May 1st, at 10:00 AM MST.

Cost: 

  • Early registration (before July 25): $340
  • Registration after July 25: $380
  • Non-refundable deposit: $170

Cost Includes: 

  • Meals from Thursday dinner thru Sunday lunch
  • Accommodations
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium entry fee
  • Sea Kayaking 
  • Airport shuttle and all transportation throughout the weekend
  • Practitioner support & a Practitioner talk 
  • A keynote talk

Financial Aid & Cancellation Information:
Need-based financial aid is available, providing up to $170 for registration and up to $200 in travel support.

If the awarded amount does not fully meet your financial needs for this event and you decide to cancel your registration, please notify us at dbinfo@discoverybound.org within 48 hours of receiving your financial aid notification. If you cancel, your deposit will be refunded, minus a $25 cancellation fee.

Weather:
In early October, Asilomar, CA, typically experiences mild and pleasant weather. You can expect:

  • Highs: Around 65–70°F (18–21°C)
  • Lows: Around 50–55°F (10–13°C)
  • Conditions: Mostly sunny or partly cloudy, with occasional morning fog or coastal breezes.

It’s a good idea to bring layers, as mornings and evenings can be cool, especially with the ocean breeze.

What to Bring:

  • Lightweight, breathable tops

  • Swim cover-up
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Sneakers/Athletic shoes
  • Sandals or flip-flops

  • Pack light! One medium bag and one day backpack, as space is limited

Travel:

Arrival (October 2, 2025):
Please arrive at any of the following:

  • San Jose (SJC) by 3:00pm
  • Monterey (MRY) by 3:30pm
  • Driving to Asilomar Conference Grounds arrive between 4:30pm-5:30pm

Departure (October 5, 2025):
Please depart from the same airport as your arrival. If you would like to stay longer, please arrange your own transportation to the airport. Check out of rooms is at 11am; however you are more than welcome to stay on the grounds as long as you would like. 

  • San Jose (SJC) at 1:00pm or later
  • Monterey (MRY) at 12:15pm or later
  • Driving from Asilomar Conference Grounds leave at your leisure
