Do You Love Adventure Unlimited? Get Involved!
If you’re looking for a way to stay connected to the organization that loves and values you, here are some ideas:
Spread the word about A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound programs
- Summer Youth Camp. There are still spots open at camp this summer! Share with your young friends the exciting, uplifting adventure that two weeks in the mountains can offer. We’ll follow up with them if you’ll send us their name and contact information; email Linda Kellogg-Clarke. Campership funds are available for families needing financial assistance. Learn more
- Compass. This one-year DiscoveryBound program just ended its pilot year with tons of positive feedback, and the next group is already signing up! If you know any teens entering 10th-12th grade in the fall who are searching for their moral and spiritual compass in a supportive peer group, tell them about Compass. Learn more
- Outreach weekend in Washington, D.C. Do you want to visit the nation’s capital, or know of any teens in 8th-12th grade who’d love an adventure with other Christian Scientists and their friends? This DiscoveryBound Outreach event, held September 2-5, 2016, will take adult (yes, adults are invited, too!) and teen participants to famous sites in D.C. while including an uplifted perspective on government, media and security. Work for Adventure Unlimited
Are you or someone you know looking for a new adventure? Check out these positions we currently have open:
- 100 Elk Seasonal Staff. Are you interested in working at an Outdoor Education Center that has the mission of “Revealing the possibilities within?” Would you like to help school children break through limitations and grow in character while living in the mountains of Colorado? If so then the 100 Elk Outdoor Education Center is just what you’ve been looking for. Learn more and apply
- A/U Ranches Seasonal Staff and Bunkhouse Parents. Do you like challenging yourself and others to grow in Christian Science? Do you love working in the outdoors? Would you like to get paid to live in the mountains of Colorado? If so, then you’ll definitely want to look into our seasonal employment opportunities. We also have two-week openings for volunteer Bunkhouse Parents to help our Sky Valley campers during Summer Youth Camp. Learn more and apply
Volunteer
Whether helping to spruce up the A/U Ranches over Memorial Day weekend or serving as a chaperone at a DiscoveryBound Outreach activity, you are needed! There are dozens of ways you can volunteer with Adventure Unlimited – find out how today. Learn more
Participate
Kids aren’t the only ones who have fun at camp. Come to Mini Camp this August! Make your own adventure in a spiritually nurturing atmosphere, where you can hike, ride horses, kayak, cycle, challenge yourself on the ropes course or just relax on one of the many decks surrounding Valerie Lodge and soak in the view of the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River Valley. Learn more and register
Connect with other alumni
There’s nothing like the connection you make with friends from camp and DiscoveryBound. Keep in touch by joining the A/U-DB Alumni Facebook Group. Share your photos and memories, and make plans to meet up at other events – like this summer’s Mini Camp! Join the A/U-DB Alumni Facebook Group
