Youth Programs
By Glenn Grow, Chair, National Alumni Board It’s a question that drives a lot of us: Where are my people? For many A/U Ranches and DiscoveryBound alumni, we cherish our memories and experiences from Youth Camp, family and adult programs, or DiscoveryBound events for the community they have provided us…
MoreI thought back to my experience as a camper and realized that time I spent at the A/U Ranches had a huge impact on my perception of Christian Science. I had realized there were so many young Christian Scientists like me who came to camp to experience what it was like to be surrounded by other like-minded people.
MoreWhat’s ahead? Christmas Camp, DiscoveryBound Outreach events for everyone, and a powerful opportunity to support our adventures on #GivingTuesday (November 30).

MoreWhat looked like daunting times for Leadville/Lake County families beginning in March 2020 was made easier by the love and joy of those who serve others at 100 Elk. Quickly springing into gear, the 100 Elk staff created a summer adventure day camp and reached out to us at the Lake County Department of Human Services, asking, “What would it take to bring kids to this program?”
MoreLiving generously is what camp is all about. In so many ways, camp opens the door (or window) to a view of life that is focused on the other, on giving. I remember during my first years on staff, this passage from Mrs. Eddy becoming my guiding focus, “…blessed is that man who seeth his brother’s need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another’s good.” (S&H 518:17-19) I loved the opportunity to serve that camp offered and continues offering today.
