Youth Adventure Day Camp
One-week-sessions of awesome outdoor adventure activities, in age-appropriate tracks, for elementary, middle and high school campers run by the 100 Elk Outdoor Center.
Week 1: July 26–30
Week 2: August 2–6
Youth Adventure Day Camp was such a hit this past summer that we’re offering two weeks of it again in 2021. Run by our 100 Elk Outdoor Center, this secular program offers campers a variety of fun and exciting outdoor adventure activities that challenge them to grow and learn respect for themselves, others and nature. Campers are grouped in age-appropriate cohorts: 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th, 6th-8th and 9th-12th grades.
Youth Adventure Day Camp is open to all members of the greater Buena Vista, CO community, and to any Christian Science families from out of town who are able to arrange their own accommodations. Spanish speaking staff are available to work with Spanish speaking campers. And all appropriate COVID precautions (hand-washing and sanitizing, staff will wear masks, campers will remain in their same group throughout the week) will be taken in this loving environment free from fear.
Programming runs Monday through Friday from roughly 9am – 4pm with staggered starts. Parents/guardians drop their campers off every morning and pick them up every afternoon. Campers need to bring their own lunch and water bottle each day. (Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.)
The General Camp program includes a variety of adventurous activities campers rotate through:
- Rock gym climbing
- Canoeing/kayaking/stand-up paddle boarding
- Swimming in the lake and pool
- “Spy School” at the low ropes course
- Backcountry survival skills
- Eco hike
- Leap and ladder
- Aerial adventure course
- Teambuilding activities
- Sports and games
The cost of the Youth Adventure Day Camp General Program is $350/child/week.
