Meet the Summer Staff
The A/U Ranches counselors are excited to meet you! Get to know our summer staff.
Howdy! I’m Ali and I’m so excited to be coming back as a corral counselor this summer! Both as a camper and staff, I’ve always looked forward to being in a place where getting closer to God is the main objective. When I’m not in Colorado, I study mechanical engineering at MIT and compete as a pole vaulter for their track team. I also love to sing, play the viola, and take pictures in my free time. At school, I’m reading through the Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy and focusing on each synonym of God individually. I love being able to read about Spirit and then seeing it expressed throughout the day. I can’t wait to see you soon!
Hi, my name is Amanda and this summer I will be joining the Corral program as a CIT up at Sky Valley Ranch. I am looking forward to spending my summer helping campers develop a closer connection to God while learning through the experience of horseback riding in a wonderful, loving atmosphere. I am excited to grow as an individual. I am ready to begin a lifelong adventure that will help me become a better teacher. At home, I love to work with horses, whether it be riding, grooming, cleaning, or teaching. If I am not around horses, I am playing volleyball, drawing, reading, or singing. As a Christian Scientist, I read the lesson daily and go to a wonderful church on Sundays. I turn to God for prayerful work and help others do the same. Overall, I am excited to work at Adventure Unlimited and be a part of this remarkable atmosphere.
Hello, my name is Ashlyn and I am from Virginia! I am looking forward to spending time at the Ranches this summer working with young Christian Science kids in an amazing environment. I will be in the Corral program. I attend high school at home, and play on my school’s varsity lacrosse team. Also, I have my own horse and love barrel racing. I center my daily life around the quote “God is Love.” I try to embody this and incorporate this quote in everything I do. I am so excited for this summer!
Hello! My name is Cassidy. I am a counselor in the Buckaroo program this summer. I am looking forward to getting to know campers and building friendships. At school I run Cross-Country and Track and Field. I am going on a trip to Greece in May and am very excited for everything I will learn and see there. I love practicing Christian Science in my everyday life and I cannot wait to further my understanding in it. Overall, I am very excited for this summer and the growth that will come with it.
My name is Cassie and I’m really excited to be returning to camp as a corral counselor. I started coming to camp at A/U when I was 7 years old and I have spent most of my summers here since then. I grew up in a huge family with 7 children. Three of my younger siblings will be at camp this year. I attend college at CSU in Fort Collins, Colorado. My degree is in teaching with a focus on History. Although I did lots of other majors in my summers at A/U, most of my years at camp have been spent in the corral/polocrosse programs. I have a horse named Blondie and a dog named Roper. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, climbing and kayaking (to name a few). I can’t wait to meet all of the campers this year!
Hi! I’m Ella, a junior at Principia Upper School. Although I live in New York, I attend Principia as a boarder in the dorms. I love living in the dorms because it is an environment where inspiration and metaphysical ideas are being freely shared. I love having lesson study in the mornings to get me ready for the day! At Prin, I enjoy playing on the varsity soccer team, acting in the school’s production, and spending time with my friends. I also love to cook, but I don’t get the chance to cook much in the dorm. I can’t wait for camp, where I will be a Sky Valley corral CIT. I’m so excited to work with the horses and meet the campers!
Hi! My name is Kale and I am from Los Angeles, California. I attend Principia Upper School and I am going into my senior year as a boarder. I will be working in the horsemanship program with the Buckaroos. When I am at home, I love to ride; I have been riding since I was 9 and currently have a horse in a pasture not far from my house, who I visit when I am home from school. I love working with horses, and I love working with my two younger siblings, and I am so excited to be able to work with kids and horses! Christian Science is one of the biggest parts of my life, no matter where I go. I have taken Bible classes that have helped me gain a deeper understanding of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. When I wake up in the morning, whenever I am faced with a challenge during the day, or before I go to bed, I always open my books, seeking inspiration that will bring healing. I love turning to Christian Science first when I face anything – and I want to be able to share that joy with others.
Howdy! My name is Karl, and this summer I will be one of the counselors in the Sky Valley Corral. I am looking forward to another summer at the A/U ranches helping campers grow in their horsemanship skills. Last summer was such a rewarding and enjoyable experience, and I look forward to making new memories with new people. I am currently in my second year at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, studying Wildlife Biology. I am also a member of my school’s polo team (horse polo, not water polo) and enjoy taking hikes and birding in my free time. Because riding horses is such a big part of my life, I have spent a lot of time thinking metaphysically about it. One of my favorite thoughts to work with is the idea that divine Mind is governing all of God’s creations, allowing for harmony and understanding between a horse and rider. This idea has helped me to achieve the level of riding I have, and I can’t wait to help campers achieve that level as well.
Hello there! My name is Katie, and I will be joining the corral program at Sky Valley this year. I am very much looking forward to breathing clear mountain air, riding through the forest, and getting to meet lots of wonderful new campers. Back in California, I’m a business major at Chapman University. But whenever I get a free afternoon, I can be found painting away while listening to music. Naturally, my favorite thing to paint is horses! Occasionally I can also be found with my nose in a good book. Although I am not currently participating in a sport, I rode western style throughout my high school years. While at Chapman, I enjoy reading the Bible Lesson every morning before getting ready to go to class. I find that this is a great way to help me keep my focus on God throughout the day. I am definitely looking forward to studying the lesson with everyone at camp!
Hello! My name is Kiersten and I’ll be working at the Sky Valley corral this summer! This will be my fourth summer working on summer staff. What I’m most looking forward to about the summer is cutting and working the cattle with campers. I’m also looking forward to seeing all the corral campers compete in the gymkhanas! I love seeing the pure joy and confidence each camper expresses as they demonstrate all the progress and improvements they’ve made in their riding and the bond they’ve made with their horses throughout the session. This past fall I took a semester off of college and worked as an outdoor instructor at A/U’s 100 Elk Outdoor Center before transferring in the spring to Colorado Mountain College in Leadville to pursue my degree in Outdoor Education. On the weekends I would come down to Buena Vista to go hiking and horseback riding at the Ranches or go skiing at the resorts nearby. What I’ve been working with as the summer approaches are the quotes from the bible and from Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In Romans, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” And on the first page of Science and Health, “To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings.” On any given day at camp, there are so many opportunities for blessings, healings, fun, and progress. I can’t wait to saddle up and ride with you!
Hello there! My name is Kristalyn and I have been apart of AU’s corral program for 14 years. I cannot wait to get back into the Mountains and on horseback with all the kiddos, practicing gymkhana and rounding up the cattle. Right now, I am perched at a cafe in Los Angeles where I spend most my days studying away; I am a Mechanical Engineer major attending Santa Monica College. I have a part-time internship at a dog rescue and a part-time job at 24 Hour Fitness, which both allow breaks from study with activity and the spiritual challenge to recognize balance and harmony as laws in every day, every schedule. I am so excited to be back at camp and hope you come visit as well!
Hey! My name is Kristen and I will be a counselor in the Sky Valley Corral this summer. I’m looking forward to riding some horses and experiencing new things at camp. I’ll be a freshman at the Florida State University this fall. At home I love going out on the boat, hanging out with my friends, and eating Chipotle. Can’t wait for summer!
Buckaroos Program Head
Hi! I’m Megan and I am the Buckaroos Program Head! I am so excited to be working at AU this summer. This will be my 13th summer out at the Ranches. I have been in the horse program almost every summer and have worked as staff in the corral program. I am currently a Junior at Principia College double majoring in Mass Communications and Political Science. One of the many things I love about Adventure Unlimited is that it is an environment that supports and challenges people to better understand their relationship with God. I love seeing sections of the lesson relate to what is happening at camp. I am so excited to see the campers gain a better understanding of Christian Science through their experiences at camp. I look forward to what this summer has in store!
Hello! My name is Mimi. I will be a CIT for the Sky Valley corral at A/U this summer, and I absolutely can’t wait. A/U has been a part of my life since I was three, and a part of my summers since I was eight. Being able to work here this summer, and provide the same experiences that taught and helped me so much is a chance I could not be more grateful, or excited, for. Helping kids to grow, whether it’s through Christian Science– whose principles of Divine Love I strive to express daily- or simply providing opportunities and constant support, is something I count myself lucky to be able to do. Outside of A/U, I am a senior at Buena Vista H.S., and a very active member of their drama and choir departments. (This year, I got to both perform as the Grandma in the Addams Family, and sing at Carnegie Hall in New York with the choir!) I am also an avid reader of Harry Potter, watcher of stars, and lover of white cheddar popcorn.
Hello! I’m Sara! I will be working down in Sky Valley this summer. I’m really looking forward to seeing everybody and going on epic hikes. I am so excited to go explore and climb around Turtle Rocks too. I just graduated from Principia College where I majored in Theatre and Biology. For a bit of the summer I have been in a few plays including The Tempest by William Shakespeare as a water spirit. Recently I’ve been really working with the idea that “Life is not limited” (S&H 469:4-5). The biggest claim in the world right now is that we lack, but Life knows us to be limitless. This idea has really helped me in my theatre work. We are present –not absent—beings. We have everything we need to express our fullest sense of self. I can’t wait to meet you!
Corral Program Head
Howdy! My name is Sarah but I typically go by Sunny. I am the Sky Valley Corral Program Head. I am currently living in Ohio finishing my Equine Studies major. Clearly I love horses very much and I am ecstatic to be able to be teaching everyone as much as I can about horses and riding. I love to be in the mountains and being able to ride a horse there makes it so much more special. I am also so excited to be able to share the magic of summer camp with my best friend and constant companion, Jax. He is my incredibly friendly and very lovable dog who will be joining in on the fun this summer. In preparation for camp this summer I have been working hard at taking the quiet moments to check in with my Father-Mother. Building that spiritual awareness has helped me to be more at peace and to hear the guidance I am receiving throughout the day. Taking advantage of all my quiet moments has also lead me to log out of the social media apps on my phone every morning so that I can be present in every moment throughout my day. I am so grateful and excited to be able to strengthen my spiritual muscles at camp.
Hello, hello!!! My name is Chris, and I am SO excited to be working with the Challengers this summer! I was a camper for six years throughout middle and high school before going to the University of Rochester. I’m really looking forward to coming back home to camp and experiencing the loving, supportive environment I remember from my time as a camper. At school I’ve been studying to become a mechanical engineer, and in my free time I enjoy fencing, and volunteering with Students Helping Honduras. One of the greatest gifts camp gave me was teaching me how Christian Science applies to my life outside of Church and Sunday School. Every day I set out with an expectation for good and lean on the sustaining infinite to guide me along and so far, every day has been big with blessings!
My name is Greg and I will be working with the Mountaineers this summer. As the summer gets underway, there are a number of things that I am looking forward to during this upcoming summer. One of the most exciting aspects of this summer is the opportunity to grow as a person by overcoming a number of different challenges that will be presented. In the Mountaineers program, we will be doing activities ranging from rock climbing to peaking mountains. When we will be doing those activities, it will give us a chance to grow while we are overcoming fun challenges. I can’t wait to learn more about you guys!
Hi, My name is Haley!! I’m super excited to be a part of the Explorers program for the third summer in a row! I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and watch everyone grow over the session. I have just graduated from Principia Upper School. I use CS everyday, in everything I do, and I can not wait to see the many demonstrations at camp.
Hey there! My name is Jeremy and this will be my 7th year back at camp and I will be in Mountaineers this year. This year at camp I’m looking forward to spending time with you all in the beautiful outdoors that Colorado has to offer. Back home I’m in my junior year of high school, and I also intern at City Hall working for the Supervisor of District 11 in San Francisco. In my free time I like to spend time with friends, go biking, and play with whatever new wheeled tech invention that hits the streets of the city. One of my favorite ways to express Christian Science in my daily life is to recite the definition of Man in Science and Health “Man is idea, the image of Love; he is not physique” (S&H p. 475)
Challengers Program Head
I’m Jerome and I am excited to return to A/U this summer as the Challengers Program Head. I am an Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. When I’m not studying and doing homework I love practicing rock climbing and target shooting. This summer I look forward to the fun, inspiring adventures we will experience together as Challengers. Throughout the year, I find I am at my best when I lean on God for support and guidance. As Challengers we are going to feel that same limitless inspiration everyday.
Challengers Assistant Program Head
Howdy, my name is Jordan, I am a Freshman at Juniata College in Pennsylvania. I am very fortunate to play on the Men’s Volleyball team here at the college. This summer I will be Assistant Program Head for the Challengers Program and the Program Head for Challengers Out Camp at Sky Valley Ranches. What I am looking forward to most this summer is the chance to see old and new faces. I am excited to get to know all the campers in my program and at Sky Valley. I am looking forward to growing together with the kids by teaching them something new and also by learning from them as well. When I am not working hard in my academics (which is almost always), I like to hang out with friends or read a book, catch up with current events or play some basketball with friends. I am always using Christian Science as it guides my thinking and my daily life but, to be more specific, I use it most with sports. As a college athlete with several things happening at once, it is necessary to keep clear that my health and wellness comes from God, and to keep out ugly, intruding thoughts. So I use Christian Science before practice and games, I am constantly praying for my friends and everyone on the court, to see that we are all effectively expressing God-reflected qualities through sports. I am excited to see you soon at AU!
Hi all! My name is Kenzie. I am in Challengers this summer! I am super excited to peak more 14,000 foot mountains in the Colorado Rockies. At home in Tahoe California I am a competitive Big Mountain skier and attend a ski academy so I can ski six days a week. I use Christian Science every day whether it’s focusing on the positive and seeing the best in others or praying for protection out on the slopes. Can not wait for the summer to begin!
Hi there! My name is Kyrstyn, This is my first summer at A/U and I will be a CIT in the Explorers program this summer. I am super excited for the summer ahead and am looking forward to having the opportunity to meet so many amazing people, and of course spend time in beautiful Colorado. I am currently a junior and run Cross Country and Track at my local high school. I practice Christian Science daily, through lesson study, or simply trying to keep an elevated thought in order see God’s loving presence in every aspect of life.
Hi my name is Leyla. I will be in the Mountaineers program. I can’t wait to be back at A/U after an amazing summer there as a CIT. I currently attend Principia Upper School as a boarder (I just joined as a senior) where I have had so much fun running on the XC team in the fall and going to Israel with my Bible class over spring break (the picture is of me there!). Something I have recently been working with is the idea that God always provides us with the right ideas right when we need them. This has shown forth in ideas for school projects and anything I am working on, and even in my daily interactions with others. Trusting in this idea, in God’s allness, has helped me look forward to healing and inspiration everyday and has grown my desire to give to others freely just as I have been given to.
Explorers Program Head
Hello! My name is Lily and I will be the Explorers Program Head this summer! I’m so excited to be returning to camp for my 12th summer. I know this summer will be full of spiritual growth, exploring, and a variety of adventures! I am currently finishing up my Sophomore year at Principia College where I major in Mass Communications and minor in Sociology/Anthropology. I’m also a singer/songwriter, substitute soloist in Christian Science churches, CSO and branch church member serving on the music committee, a writer for my school newspaper, and radio talk show host. I will be studying abroad next January in Ireland with Principia focusing on theatre, writing, and religion! I love volunteering, hiking, swimming, and spending time with my family and friends! As a lifelong Christian Scientist, I love seeing how practical this truth is as a part of my everyday life — when I read the lesson each week, serve church as soloist, attend weekly testimony meetings, hymn sings, and participate in group discussions about CS topics on campus and at camp over the years. I love seeing the demonstration and application of Christian Science every day, so I am looking forward to supporting the campers’ spiritual growth through all our activities in the mountains this summer!
Hi! My name is Lindsey. I’m super excited to be a CIT in both the NLC and Challengers programs this summer. I really can’t wait to spend a lot of time in the outdoors with wonderful people while learning more about God! I attend Principia Upper School and love to play volleyball, swim, and run. My favorite class is Bible, where I get to learn about applying the teachings in the Bible and Science and Health to my life! I have a passion for Christian Science, and I feel blessed to be able to share my growth with others this summer!
Hello! My name is Mia and I’m from Brooklyn, NY. I just finished my senior year of high school, and will be attending college in the fall. I love sports and play soccer, basketball, and ultimate Frisbee. I also play trumpet in my school Wind Ensemble and tutor in my free time. I love to hike, swim, and explore the outdoors, and I have spent a lot of time in Colorado aside from camp, too. This summer will be my 8th year at A/U and I will be a Mountaineers counselor!
Hello! My name is Noah and I live in Los Angeles, California. I will be working in the Mountaineers program this summer. I love hiking and am so excited to spend some quality time with the great outdoors of Colorado on our outdoors excursions. I graduated last spring from four amazing years at the Principia Upper school which was filled with great memories, lifelong friendships, and tremendous spiritual growth. During my time at the Upper School I played football, baseball, and I wrestled as well. When I’m not at school I love snowboarding, skateboarding, biking, and waterskiing. I’m just finishing a great freshman year at Principia College and am so excited to return in the Fall. My time both at the Upper School and this last year at Principia college has truly done wonderful things for my metaphysical growth. I’ve found a deep love of studying the Bible through these years and have taken this interest into pursuing a religion major in college. I love taking the time each week to do deep study of the lesson and our Pastor and I believe my love for these things will only increase this summer at camp! I can’t wait to see you all there!
I’m Paul and I’m the CIT for the Explorers program. I love challenging my limits. I’m looking forward to the community and teamwork of working together to conquer fear and doubt and see the growth of the people around me. Peaking a 14er at camp was one of my favorite memories that I have had. I’m homeschooled and I love music and film. I recently assisted on a short film that my sister-in-law directed. I like to start the day with an inspirational quote and think about it and apply it to problems and situations that arise throughout the day to bring healing and joy.
Hello! I am Ryan. I’ll be a counselor in Challengers this year. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people, reuniting with old friends, and growing as a person this summer! At home I am involved in JROTC, I like to play the cello, and a love drawing. I incorporate Christian Science into my life by knowing that He has everything laid out for me and the only thing I have to do is live it.
Hi! I’m Spencer, and I’m a counselor for the Challengers program! I am excited to meet and hang out with all the campers, and of course, play a little Gaga:). My favorite things to do outside of school are hiking, running, and playing music. I incorporate Christian Science in my life by reading the Bible and Science & Health each week to find spiritual truths I can hold onto forever!
Hello Parents and Campers, my name is Tyler, and I will be a counselor for the Explorers program. I am currently a senior at Menlo-Atherton High School in California. I have enjoyed multiple sports while in High School including rowing, Cross Country, and Men’s Volleyball. This summer, I most look forward to meeting new campers and spending time outdoors. Bringing Christian Science into my everyday life is important to me, so every morning as I walk to school, I listen to the Daily Lift and latch onto an idea in the podcast to take with me through the rest of the day.
I’m Becca and I will be working in the Waterfront program this summer. I am so excited to get to work at camp this summer, spending time around the water and getting to know as many people as I can. I am a theater major at Principia college, so I love musicals and plays but, I also love to dance, sing, and swim. Christian Science is an important part of my life, “and love is reflected in love” is one of my favorite quotes that I live by.
Waterfront Program Head
Hello all, My name is Brody and I am thrilled to be part of the Adventure Unlimited family this summer. I am from Edmond, Oklahoma and I attend Principia College where I study mechanical engineering and physics. I love to spend my free time hanging out with friends, playing the guitar, and wakeboarding. A/U has always been a second home to me and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to continue my practice in Christian Science. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, Christian Science is a tool that I can always rely on and it constantly pushes me to be a better person. I’m already excited for the summer to begin and I look forward to seeing the growth in my campers, friends, and myself.
Hi! My name is Dana, and I’m a counselor for the Waterfront program. I’m looking forward to returning to A/U as a fully-fledged counselor! I am so excited to be back in Colorado, and I can’t wait to make this summer a great experience for every camper I get to meet. I’ll be headed to college after this summer, which is crazy, but very exciting! I’m a dedicated member of Varsity Mixed Choir, Show Choir, and theatre at my high school. Additionally, I’ve been involved in the National English Honor Society, GSA, and multiple AP classes. I’m passionate about music, and spend much of my free time singing or playing the piano. I incorporate Christian Science into my life by taking time each day to affirm my connection with Divine Mind. I’ve found that reading the Bible lesson every morning puts me in a great spiritual mindset and prepares me for whatever I may encounter during the day.
My name is Hayley and I am from Edmond, Ok where they call big hills, mountains. This summer I will be working in the waterfront program, where I look forward to building my knowledge of Christian Science and growing closer to God. I also am looking forward to making new friends and finding new ways to challenge myself. I currently am a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, majoring in accounting which I absolutely love. Some hobbies of mine include traveling, hanging with my friends, watching Netflix, going to the lake, and being with my family. Some examples of how I incorporate CS in my daily life would be when friends are worried about getting a certain disease because it has been going around. I work on this by simply rejecting that idea that there is a disease and correcting my thought of all things good. Another example is the idea of not being discouraged when professors hand back tests. No matter the letter grade, we should learn to not be discouraged because God provides us with everything we need and we should know where our true intelligence comes from.
Hi, my name is Ya-Li. I will be in the Waterfront program this summer. I am in my freshman year of college studying geology and love living in the Pacific Northwest, specifically Bellingham, Washington. Despite all the rain we get, I enjoy the outdoors and hiking with friends in the arboretum on campus. When I am not busy studying, I spend my time painting on vinyl records, listening to music, and reading YA fiction. It’s comforting to know that at the end of each school year, camp at Adventure Unlimited awaits us for another year of inspiration and fun memory making. This year I’ve been working with the concept of progress and feeling reassured knowing God is both the preserver of man and the cause and effect for everything. Unbound by time, Divine Love is constantly opening pathways that we only need to look up to find and seek. I can’t wait for the summer splash‘in to begin. See you out on the water!
SVR Lodge Manager
Hello everyone! My name is Austin and I will be the Lodge Manager for Sky Valley Ranches this summer. I am a recent college graduate of the year 2017 who majored in philosophy, so yes, to answer the question in your head it is hard to find work. With no chance of employment in any respectable field I have decided to become a film actor. (If you could not tell by my headshot attached to this paragraph). Since my recent graduation from school I have spent the last year in Hollywood pursuing my passion of the arts. This consists of auditioning, actor training, scene study courses, script writing, and of course networking. As much as I kid around I am very grateful to be working at A/U this summer and doing what I can to help out. Adventure Unlimited has been a signature element in my growth as a human being and as a Christian Scientist. All I feel responsible to do is give back to a community that has given to me so much. I am so thrilled for this summer and to meet all of you little adventurers. God speed and God bless.
Sky Valley Camp Director
Hi I’m Shea and I’ll be the Sky Valley Camp Director this summer. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at camp very soon! I can’t wait to experience such wonderful adventures, and to put love into action alongside all of you! I am looking forward to all of the light that you bring to the summer, and to experience, as well as witness, all of the spiritual growth! Can’t wait to see you soon at the Ranches!
Hi! My name is Annabel, and I am a counselor for Corral and Kayaking. This is my 11th year at camp, and I am really looking forward to meeting all of the campers this summer and helping them grow in all the skills we teach! I am a sophomore at the University of Denver, and I am studying Russian and International Studies. I love the outdoors, especially riding horses, kayaking, hiking and skiing. Christian Science is an important aspect of my life and easy to incorporate. My grandmother sends me full texts while I am at school, and I love reading a section of the lesson every day before I start my homework!
Cattle Working & Polocrosse
Hi, my name is Cooper and I will be a Cattle/Polocrosse counselor this summer. I’m really looking forward to being back in a camp environment that is so supportive of spiritual growth, and a place I can call home. I am currently attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Outside of the classroom, I have a passion for photography and videography that takes up most of my free time. College has been a great way for me to practice Christian Science daily, illustrating the importance of being metaphysically prepared for whatever comes my way during the week – and I love to share what I have learned. I hope to see y’all very soon!
Cattle Working & Polocrosse Program Head
Hi, my name is Ellen and I am so excited to be a part of your child’s camp experience this summer! Currently I’m a third year Agricultural Business major at California State University, Chico. I work during the school year as an academic peer advisor to our students, as well as facilitate conferences for the Future Farmers of America. I’ll be the Cattle Working and Polocrosse Program Head this summer at Round Up, and I couldn’t be more excited to return and enjoy the beautiful ranches as well as meet your child. My hope is that this summer I will able to bring valuable opportunities to your child’s camp experience that will help them to expand and deepen their understanding of Christian Science and how it applies to life. I’ve grown up in a farming environment and have ridden horses since I was five years old, and as a camper myself, I have been through the horsemanship program and have had the best time of my life. Being able to not only build connections with other campers, but to develop a partnership with your horse is unforgettable. Camp allows everyone to truly be themselves in an atmosphere where they are loved, safe, and supported. I look forward to meeting your child and I’m so grateful to have the chance to be a part of what I know will be a life changing camp experience!
Hi all! My name is Grace, and this summer I’ll be the Round-‐Up corral CIT. I’m really looking forward to continuing my work with horses, and helping others improve their skills, along with seeing all the love and positivity camp has to offer! At home I’m the captain of my school’s mock trial team, and I love to write and take photos. I like to incorporate Christian Science into my daily life by praying for others as well as myself. It’s an uplifting way to love a community that has endlessly supported me.
Hello! My name is Hannah, and I will be the Polocrosse CIT. I’m looking forward to spending my summer doing what I love, riding horses, in one of my favorite places, Adventure Unlimited! Though my family is in Colorado and I was born and raised in Colorado, I go to the Principia Upper School, a school for Christian Scientists. At Principia, I play volleyball and soccer. I have also spent a lot of my free time drawing or reading. One of the great things about being at Principia and living in the girls’ dorm is that I have developed the habit of setting aside time every day to read the lesson. I’ve learned to turn to God first and recognize reality through this daily practice.
Corral Program Head
Hello, my name is Tamara and I will be leading the RUR Corral program this summer! One of my favorite things about horses is how they tend to bring out a new confidence in people that they didn’t even know they had in the first place. I am so excited to witness how everyone’s skills and confidence working with horses will develop this summer. A little about me- I live and work in Denver during the year, riding is my biggest passion, but I also try to get outside as often as I can to go on climbing and camping trips. One of the biggest reasons I moved to Denver a couple years ago after graduating from Principia College is because there are so many beautiful places to adventure nearby! Christian Science has always been an amazing foundation in my life that I am continuously grateful for. Whether it’s being able to look at challenging situations in a positive light or encouraging others who may not be familiar with Christian Science to do the same. I love the sense of levelheadedness Christian Science has given me throughout my life. I cannot wait to ride with and get to know you all this summer!
My name is Afton and I will be a sophomore at Principia College, double majoring in political science and environmental studies, with a minor in sustainability. I am so excited to be a Counselor at AU this summer in the mountain biking program! I run cross country and track! I also enjoy playing the violin, the ukulele, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and doing just about anything outdoors! I am looking forward to helping campers see that with God they really CAN do all things!
Mountain Biking Program Head
My name is Brooke and I’ll be the Mountain Biking Program Head this summer. I can’t wait to get back to some fresh mountain air and witness all the spiritual growth this summer! I’m currently a junior at Principia College majoring in studio art (think graphic design!). I play lacrosse and played on the soccer team last fall. I love spending time in the studio, writing, and playing with dogs! My favorite way to spend time with God is getting in a good, challenging workout. I like to talk with God to get my mind off of what challenges I’m experiencing physically, and I always come away feeling less tired and way more inspired! I can’t wait to continue turning to God as I challenge myself on rides this summer. Can’t wait to see you at camp!
Hi! My name is Cézanna and I’ll be working with the Limitless program third session! I admire so greatly how campers courages us to be relentless with our metaphysical study and our adventurous endeavors in the beautiful Sawatch mountains that surround us. I am insatiably curious and I love to play and find ways to be creative with whatever form that comes–running, climbing, drawing, jumping into cold bodies of water or even doing research in Arctic environments. With every bound forward, Christian Science is always my map and compass. It guides me to take on every venture with discernment and conviction, and for that I am always grateful to know and understand it better.
Hello! My name is Henry. I’m a senior at a Fine Arts Academy High School in Austin, Texas. I’ve been a camper for many years at AU and am excited to be a CIT this summer for the Mosaics program. I’m looking forward to sharing what I have come to love about the mountains, camping, and being part of a spiritual community. I love hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, photography, and music. It’s important to me to apply Christian Science principles to all aspects of my life by being happy, positive, helpful to others, and appreciating the beauty in each day.
Hey, my name is Kimanii and I will be in the mountain mosaics program this summer. I look forward to all the fun experiences and growth whether it be while climbing a mountain, exploring a cave, or hanging out at camp. At the moment I go the Principia Upper School, I run track, and have an interest in graphic design. I hope to help others on their spiritual journey in such an amazing environment I am beyond excited for this summer.
Mosaics Program Head
Hi my name is Matthew and I will be the Mosaics Program Head this summer! I am definitely looking forward to getting to be a part of the Mosaics staff for the third year in a row! Each year I get to experience a whole variety of activities as part of the Mosaics scheme of things, and it truly never gets old. The campers each session make it special in their own way, and I couldn’t possibly ask for more. Currently I am a Junior in college at Colorado State University studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business. Outside of a steady workload from classes, I enjoy running, rock climbing, sports of all sorts, gaming, and most of all, peaking 14ers. Christian Science currently plays a large role in my life. I spend time each morning reading the lesson and or CS texts. I try to apply it throughout my daily life. I am also currently a Sunday School teacher for 5th and 6th graders here at my local branch church in Fort Collins, which certainly ensures that I remain an active member in the Christian Science community.
I’m Nathan and this summer I will be working with Family Camp first session and Mountain Biking for 2nd and 3rd. I’m super excited to be spending my days along side so many amazing people in one of the most beautiful places in the world. On Principia’s track is where I spend most of my time during the school year, and as a result of loving track, I have come to enjoy long runs on the beach. No matter how much I love running however, it will never be an easy endeavor and is where Christian Science plays a large role in my life. Before every race I affirm where my strength comes from, and during grueling workouts I give gratitude for my challenges and rely on God to guide me through.
Hi my name is Rachel and I am in the Conquerors program this summer. I love to be outside and do all kinds of outdoor activities. I can’t wait to come back to the ranches this summer for my 6th year. I absolutely love sharing the beautiful Collegiate Range with new people and peaking new mountains! At home, I will be attending the University of Washington in the fall and majoring in environmental studies as well as double minoring in marine biology and public policy. I also like running, stand up paddle boarding, biking, photography, and dogs. I am excited to share Christian Science and be selfless!
My name is Corrina and I’ll be in the Rafting this summer. I’m super excited to be back at the gorgeous Ranches and get on the river . I’m also really looking forward to seeing the staff and creating friendships with my campers! I’m a high school senior right now and next year I’m taking a gap year . In my free time I like to read, write, and be outside with my dog. I was a member of my debate team this year and I really love learning about current events, news, and politics. I spend a lot of time with CS in my life and one of the biggest times I use it is with my sisters. Both of them live with my dad and it is awesome to have something we can talk about that connects us despite living in different places. I really like to think about the unity that exists between all of us as children of God.
Greetings! My name is Dean, and I have been in the Adventure Unlimited Community for thirteen years now! I am excited to be a member of the Rafting Staff again this summer. Rafting has always been my favorite activity at camp, and I can’t wait to share my love for river adventures with you all! I am looking forward to rafting down Brown’s Canyon again this summer, which happens to be the most rafted stretch of whitewater in North America.
Outside of Camp, I attend Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, and major in both Business Administration and Economics. I compete for the Principia Track and Field team in the 400m, 200m, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, Javelin throw, and hold a school record in the 4x200m relay. Track and Field is a wonderful medium for me to express the infinite strength, endurance, and peace that God provides—this is why I love to run. In an effort to be a “student of the game” in my sport, I have received coaching certifications for both USA Track and Field and USA Weightlifting. I love the outdoors and everything that encompasses adventure; you can often find me swimming, mountain biking, hiking, or driving somewhere to do any of these activities.
Christian Science plays a huge role in my life, and I strongly believe in beginning every day with God. In The Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy includes “The Daily Prayer” in the section on discipline, and asks all members to pray this every day, as I do every morning before my feet hit the floor. This way, I am first grounded in God so that good may unfold bountifully throughout the day.
I’m George and I will be part of the Rafting program this summer. The thing that I ammost looking forward to at camp is being able to help make a better experience for my peersand campers. At home I love to hang out with some friends and play the violin with others. I incorporate Christian Science into my everyday life by utilizing its teachings with my relationships.
Hi! My name is Gretchen, and this year I’m excited to be on the Rafting Staff. I can’t wait to be back at the beautiful Ranches, and welcome all the new campers into my favorite place. At home in St. Louis, I just graduated high school and finished my last soccer season after 14 years of playing. I use Christian Science daily in the form of GoVerse. Every morning I wake up and look to find some inspiration for my day. I hold on to my quote all day and reflect at night.
Rafting Program Head
Hello! My name is Hannah and I’ll be the Rafting Program Head this summer at A/U! I’ve been rafting with A/U since my freshman year of high school and am so excited to be back again this year.I’m really looking forward to getting back on the water and using some of our new equipment. I also can’t wait to soak up some sun! The Boston winter is gorgeous, but I miss my mountains. And, of course, I can’t wait to see all our returning campers and meet our new ones. Welcome to the family! While I’m originally from California, I currently live in Boston and study Journalism at Boston University with a Minor in Spanish. I work for our on-campus, student-run radio station as the Director of BU in the Morning. Running a daily talk show has introduced meto so many incredible people and opened so many doors for me, not to mention it’s a ton of fun. I’m also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, and try to get out of the house to do service with my sisters as often as I can. I love to read, and, more recently, I’ve been trying my hand at painting. One of my favorite things about Boston is being so close to the Mother Church. Having such easy access to a Christian Science community has been really helpful to me living so far from home. Christian Science has also been my strongest support at school. Having such an infallible support system and being constantly surrounded by love and God’s care has helped me feel capable, supported, and safe while on the East Coast.I can’t wait to see everybody’s smiling faces this summer and to make new memories to hang up beside the old ones.
My name is Julian and I am excited to be a CIT in the rafting program. I am looking forward to being a part of the A/U community, meeting this year’s campers and exploring new parts of the Colorado rivers together. I can’t wait to meet and grow with all of you as people and as Christian Scientists. When I’m not busy playing baseball with my high school or travel team in New York, I am refereeing football, playing soccer, or babysitting the various neighborhood kids. I use Christian Science to deal with what people, school, and life, throw at me. I always remember that if “I do my best, God will do the rest!”
Hi, my name is Lachlan and I will be a rafting CIT this summer! I’m really looking forward to the bonds that I will make with my fellow CITs and the opportunity to give back to A/U, as it has given me so much over the years. Back home I am an avid photographer, I play baseball for a good chunk of the year, and I am a student officer of the thespians. In my daily life I incorporate Christian Science by reading the bible lesson on a regular and meaningful basis as fuel to truly make a difference in my online church community. I can’t wait for this summer and all the growth that we will experience!!
Hi! My name is Madlyn, or Madi. I will be working in the Rafting program this summer. I am looking forward to meeting new people and building my metaphysical faith in C.S. Back home in Alaska I play volleyball, basketball, softball, and track for my high school. I love meeting new people and forming long-lasting connections.
Hello, my name is Thomas. I’m currently a St. Bonaventure High School graduate. I am a 3-year member of the varsity swim team. I’ve also played 2 years on the high school football team. I am very excited to be spending the summer as a counselor at A/U. I have had amazing and life-changing experiences at camp myself and hope to be a part of a truly inspirational summer for everyone as one of the rafting staff members. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and downhill longboarding. I will also be attending ASU in the fall as a freshman. I incorporate Christian Science into my life every day in almost everything I do. One of the main ways is by listening to the lesson on the way to school in the morning. I can’t wait to spend an awesome summer with the campers and my fellow counselors.
Hello! My name is Brooke and I am excited to be at A/U this summer! I am most looking forward to singing camp songs and swimming in the lake. I have spent the past four years working for an investment management company in Los Angeles, but will be moving to Dallas, Texas to start business school in the fall. I find great inspiration in hymns, and I often sing a hymn to remind myself that God is ever-present.
My name is Camille and I will be a CIT for the NLC summer orientation program. I am still in the NLC program and I remember my orientation summer as being a time to really connect with God and my new family and I had a wonderful experience so I am most looking forward to helping others also have an amazing summer. At home I am interested in subjects such as Spanish and Marine Biology, I work at a local Dairy Queen, and I play Ultimate Frisbee. I incorporate Christian Science by trying to know that everything I do is directed by God and that even if something feels challenging or too much I know that I am following God’s plan and it is perfectly as intended by Him. I try to feel at peace knowing He is in control.
Hello! My name is Delaney, and I will be working at A/U this summer as a counselor for the National Leadership Council. I am super excited to be able to be a part of NLC, this summer, as I just graduated from the 2018C class this past February. I’m really looking forward to rafting and visiting the Lost Wonder Hut this summer. At home, I play softball and am in a film program-we just finished up filming a short film that I got to be in! I also love to take pictures, play my guitar, and go on mountain bike rides with my mom and younger brother. This next fall, I will be starting at Principia College to study business and political science, and I am so glad I get to spend my college career in a Christian Science environment. This year, I have been focusing a lot on letting God direct me wherever I go, and I can’t wait to continue that this summer at the Ranches.
RUR Camp Director
Hello friends! My name is Holly, and I’m one of the awesome Camp Directors for Round-Up for this summer! I’ve spent more summers and 4th of Julys at AU than anywhere else in the world! I’m most excited about getting the opportunity to see every single program in action and get to know everyone who comes our way this summer! I’m also excited to branch outside of the Rafting program where I’ve spend over a decade and a half as a camper, staff, and program head. During my free time at home I’m an aerobics instructor, a volunteer at the local aquarium working with the fish and invertebrate department, and keep active with the recreation department where my husband works leading kayak trips and playing in activities like kayak polo tournaments and archery tag. When I’m not running around or teaching classes, I play in the local community orchestra or learn how to weave. I met my husband working in the fall season at AU’s 100 Elk program, and we enjoy rock climbing and road cycling when our time off aligns. Keeping myself in the “secret place of the most high” is so easy with the amount of Love and reflecting I get to do every day with everything I participate in! I cannot wait to bring all of me to camp this summer and enjoy getting to share every quality from ambition to compassion unabashedly. Much love and see you soon at the ranches!
Hello! My name is Riley, and I am one of the Program Heads for NLC. As I continue to look ahead forward to this summer, I get increasingly excited for all the outdoor adventures that we will have at camp. However, despite all those adventures, I’m even more looking forward to having those experiences in the wonderful atmosphere of A/U and in the company of all the wonderful people there. I love camp because of the inclusive atmosphere that allows people to not only push themselves to be the best they can be, but also bond and establish friendships during their time there that will last long after camp has ended. For me, it is the people that make camp the special place it is. This fall I will be a senior at Principia College. I am a theatre major with a minor in dance. I love to be on stage, telling stories and (hopefully) making people think a little about our world and how we all fit into it. If I can make someone laugh that’s a bonus too! If I’m not on stage or rehearsing, I’m probably taking it easy and hanging out with my friends or I’m tucked away with a good book. Christian Science has been a foundation of my time at camp for many years now. Every year I come back I find my experience enriched by having it revealed to me again and again that Love is best demonstrated in action and is always around us regardless of where we are or what we are doing. I have learned to trust God and let Love guide the way, no matter if it is climbing another mountain or if it’s dealing with fear on the ropes course, Love is always present.
My name is Ann. I am a mother of three. Two of my children will be at youth camp while I work in the kids camp with my youngest, Asher. I love working in the kids camp I l have always enjoyed working with kids. I have worked in preschools and daycare centers for many years. Before that I was a Christian Science nurse. I have been a Christian Scientist all my life and enjoy using Science and showing my children how to apply this Precious Science to their every day situations as well.I look forward to spending time with your children at kids camp during family camp!
Ranch Services – Kitchen
At the Hub, I read a plaque that read something to the effect that A/U served people who were “young at heart”. That’s me. I did not attend camp when I was in school but I am now. It is rejuvenating, encouraging, exciting, and just plain fun. I love the opportunity to simply love and be appreciated as me. It is so much fun and exciting to practice Christian Science openly. My goal is to apply Christian Science in everything I do whether at the camps or elsewhere. I believe I bring experience and perspective to the campers and staff. I want to listen and help when requested. Mostly I want to pray for that “Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us;” SH 497:24-27
Outcamp & Arts and Crafts Director
Hi, I’m Gail! I am the Outcamp and Arts & Crafts Director for both Round Up Ranch and Sky Valley Ranch. I am grateful to be working with so many inspiring, energetic, selfless people in an atmosphere that supports personal growth, self-‐discovery and spiritual enlightenment.
Wrangler Ranch Hand
Hi, I am Ken. I am going to work as a wrangler ranch hand that will be helping out with packtrips this summer. I anticipate living and working in the beautiful Colorado Mountains with great joy. I am originally from Southern California. I have been working the last year as a carpenter building commercial sets, and for the winter/early spring, I have been working as a ski lift operator at Mammoth Mountain. Working outside in the mountains every day helps me to recognize the spiritual nature of the universe; life is beautiful and life is fragile, but it always finds a way to express and thrive in any environment like tiny chirping birds on an avalanche gnarled tree.
Hello! My name is John. This will be my first year at Adventure Unlimited as a counselor. I went to AU for five years as a camper, and I will be in the mountain programs this summer. I am looking forward to growing in my understanding of Christian Science and conquering more mountains along the way. I love soccer, watching movies, and eating good foo . I am a business major at the University of Texas at Austin, and I enjoy using Christian Science every day in my life. It has helped me get through tough times like tests and good times like playing soccer.
Hi! My name is Nicole and I am an avid homeschooling mom who loves to garden, bake, “vintagize” old furniture and tend my backyard chickens. When I am not busy with all the above activities, I work part-time as the Director of Marketing for Rhino Cubed, a company that transforms shipping containers into tiny homes. I am passionate about finding beauty in every day moments and living an inspired, intentional life. I can’t wait to be of service to your family during family camp!
Wrangler Ranch Hand
Hi all! My name is Sam and I will be a Wrangler Ranch Hand this summer. I am looking the most forward to see the incredible growth among those who come to camp each year time after time. I currently go to Principia College and study Political Science with a focus on International Relations. I play rugby in fall as part of the Principia Thunder Chickens! I also incorporate Christian Science thoroughly in my everyday life regarding morals, inspiration, and work. I like to find ways to glorify God and recognize that He is all and all. I can’t wait to an amazing summer with you all. See you soon!
My name is Skylyr and I am excited to be working as a camp photographer this summer. I am looking forward to capturing camp moments for the campers to enjoy long after the session is over. I am currently studying business, entrepreneurship, and art at Principia College but my favorite past-time is driving and photographing cars. I also love nature and portrait photography. I like to incorporate Christian Science in my daily life by trying to live as Christ did and understanding the truth about my spiritual existence as well as those around me.
