AU Adult Expeditions: Exploring Southern Patagonia:

Join us for a one of a kind trip to Southern Patagonia (Chile and Argentina).
This expedition takes us to the end of the world to explore the wild landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile. We will divide into two groups during the program a backpacking group and a horseback riding group. In Torres del Paine we will hike the classic and stunning, 5-day "W" route, staying in comfortable hostels and lodges each night, while the riders will traverse the adjacent pampas, stopping each evening at historic estancias (old sheep ranches now functioning as bed and breakfasts). The trip will end with time spent exploring some of Argentina's national parks. The program starts and finishes in Santiago, Chile.
The leaders of this expedition will be Dr. Gary Fleener and Gina Lindquist. Gary has spent many years teaching about mountain culture and ecology and leading educational travel programs in Asia and Latin America. During the treks he will provide insight into the unique natural history of the Patagonia region. Gina Lindquist, veteran Expeditions leader and National Field Director, will share her love of horses and mountains leading the horse riding group.
Price: TBD (will not include international airfare to Santiago, Chile)

About one month prior to attending, Maddie will be sending out some study questions to focus in on the material we'll explore. Everyone is encouraged to bring a favorite Bible translation besides King James, as well as a favorite reference book.
